Dan Knight is the publisher of Christian Perpectives, Reformed.Net, Low End Mac, and several other sites. His parents and grandparents were members of the Gereformeerde Kerken in Nederland when the left the Netherlands for Canada circa 1950. There they helped plant their Reformed Dutch tradition on Canadian soil as part of the predominantly American Christian Reformed Church (CRC). Today the churches they and other Dutch immigrants grew in Canada comprise roughly 30% of the denomination's membership.
Dan's parents moved from Canada to Grand Rapids, Michigan, the headquarters of the CRC, in the early 1960s. He attended Christian schools there from first grade through eleventh, at which time the family moved to St. Catharines, Ontario. He graduated from Beacon Christian High School in 1976, attended Trinity Christian College (Palos Hts., IL) 1976-1978, and has a B.A. in English, history, and philosophy from Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI). He has also taken several classes at Calvin Theological Seminary.
The Reformed worldview espoused by John Calvin, the reformer; G. Groen van Prinsterer, the historian; Abraham Kuyper, the pastor, editor, and statesman; and Herman Dooyeweerd, the philosopher, strongly shapes Dan's worldview.
